Kind of incredible that we'd never been to this museum before; between Mik's love of maps and my love of all things small and well-constructed (the tinier, the better), how we could have passed up this museum for 4 years is beyond me. The highlight is this massive replica of the city of Beijing, done in - well - I can't even guess at the scale (1:1,000, maybe?).
Granted, we would have been even more impressed with it had we not recently discovered Google Earth (droooooool), but it was a great way to spend a Saturday morning, followed by a walk in the renovated Qianmen/Dashilan'r area.
On lower right, Mik's pointing out our home in the larger, more detailed model of the Central Business District.
