Some high return-on-investment views on two trails from the Commune: a 20 minute hike to an unrestored section of the Great Wall; and a 7 minute climb to the "Star Gazing Point" with views of the mountains (and Badaling section of the Wall) all around. Always a plus when one is schlepping a 13-kg kid with a runny nose and a short attention span.
